Hello Reader, The little pumpkin outfit looked cute online. Now you are trying to get your puppy or dog into it—and they have other ideas. Your puppy might grab the sleeve and start chewing. Your teenage dog might wiggle away before you get it fastened. And if you recently brought a dog home, you may have no idea how they will feel about wearing anything. Before you try again, pause and watch what they do. Are they moving around comfortably? Or are they trying to rub it off, backing away, or suddenly standing very still? Being able to get the costume on does not always mean they are comfortable wearing it. I made a short reel about Halloween costumes and what to look for with your puppy or dog. Try it before Halloween so there is no rush to get a photo. If they are uncomfortable, you can skip the outfit and let the pumpkins beside them do the dressing up. Talk soon, Stay connected: |

Maybe you wait until fewer people are outside. Maybe you put your puppy behind a gate when someone comes over because it just feels easier. Maybe there is somewhere you used to take your dog that you have quietly stopped going. None of that means you are doing anything wrong. Sometimes those workarounds are...
Hello Reader, On Wednesday I talked about how easy it is to buy more stuff for your puppy or dog when every store seems to be running a sale. And sometimes the right thing really does help. A better leash. A harness that fits well. A toy your puppy actually likes. Something that makes part of the day a little easier. But there is another side to it. You can buy the right thing and still feel like you are not getting anywhere. The leash is fine, but walks are still frustrating. You have toys...
